NSLSC Update: See Ya Later Snail Mail!

Over the next few months the National Student Loan Service Centre will start to transition various communications to students from traditional snail mail to fast and fabulous email.

Back in the olden days of government student loans you’d get a welcome letter by mail after receiving a loan disbursement. Fast forward to the not so distant future and you can expect a high-tech totally awesome Funding Confirmed notice to appear in your secure online mailbox within the NSLSC On-Line Services website.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. You will also receive a message in your personal email account—the one you used on your student loan application—advising that you should promptly check your secure online mailbox for new information!

(Psst….If you don’t already have an account with the NSLSC you can set one up now at CanLearn.ca)

This is just one of many exciting changes to government student loan notifications. Stay tuned as more of the paper communication you know and love gets a digital makeover.

In all seriousness, while we love this move towards paperless communication we know some students may be a bit wary of getting government student loan notifications in their inbox. If you ever have questions about the legitimacy of an email you receive contact the NSLSC or get in touch with the FAA team here at RRU.
